Becoming a Volunteer
From the beginning, all branches of the Red Cross have depended upon volunteers to offer and expand services. Voluntary Service is one of our 7 Fundamental Principals. 90% of Red Cross personel do not recieve money for their service. Somehow, we find our rewards to be valuable anyway.
How to become a volunteer
- Explore the positions at Volunteer Opportunties or talk with appropriate staff about your schedule, interests, and skills.
- Attend a volunteer orientation
- Complete Volunteer Application, Code of Conduct, and Intellectual Property forms.
- Email your completed documents to info@gatewayredcross.org
- Complete a background check
- Peruse the Volunteer Handbook 2009
- Arrange your first service date or attend training as needed
