Volunteer

The American Red Cross

There are MANY volunteer opportunities with the American Red Cross. Red Cross volunteers are people who want to make a difference - and do! Some volunteers choose to be a part of the disaster response team and are trained and ready to respond at a moment’s notice. Others choose to be a part of the Service to Armed Forces to help connect military service members with their families and deliver emergency communication. You might choose to be a part of the blood services program working to ensure a safe and adequate supply of life-saving blood. You could also be a part of the health and safety team, teaching others how to be be prepared in emergencies. We also have opportunities to work with the youth in our communities to help teach them preparedness and safety skills.  We also have a few positions that will allow you to volunteer from home or with your family.

Listen to what our current volunteers have to say:

The most rewarding thing for me is the knowledge that I am ready to respond with others that have training. This means my community and those around me have a team of people making it a better place for everyone. I also feel good that I can give back to my community.

~Carole

What’s most the most rewarding part for me as a Red Cross volunteer?  Learning how to effectively channel our compassions for those who have experienced a disaster. Transforming a good intentional thought to practical assistance.

~Judy
