Disaster Training

All Disaster Training is free to any volunteer on the Disaster Action Team (DAT) or the Disaster Support Team.  Several courses are given each month.

DAT Trainee to Member:

DAT Member to Advanced Member:

  • Fulfill all DAT member requirements, plus:
  • Psychological First Aid
  • Defensive Driving
  • Serving people with Disabilities Following a Disaster
  • Working with Total Diversity

Disaster Specializations:

  • Fulfill all DAT member requirements, plus:
  • Bulk Distribution or Feeding Service Associate: Emergency Response Vehicle Training
  • Sheltering Service Associate: All Members automatically have this specialization
  • Health or Mental Health Services Service Associate: Health Services Response Workshop, Client Assistance System, background in health or mental health
  • Information Management Service Associate: Financial and Statistical Information Management
  • Materials Support Service Associate: Logistics
  • Organizational support Service Associate: either Public Affairs: Local Response or Disaster Fundraising: Preparing and Responding in Chapters
  • Partner services Service Associate: Collaborating to Ensure Effective Service Delivery
  • Staff Services Service Associate: Collaborating to Ensure Effective Service Delivery
